The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce launched a local spending campaign entitled Keep It In The County in June 2009 and the program quickly proved to be one of its most successful new initiatives. Keep It In The County, developed by the Public Relations Committee, was designed with several objectives in mind: to educate the public about the impact that local spending has on the county's economic well-being, to promote those Chamber members who sponsor the campaign and to retain the tax benefits created by local
shopping in order to strengthen the county's financial strength.
