Thank you for your interest in the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce. We welcome our members to participate in the accomplishment of our mission statement, which is to promote an economic climate conducive to balanced growth and development in order to make Gordon County a better place to live, work and play.
The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce is truly the sum of its parts. Our membership includes more than four hundred of the county's most accomplished businesses, led by talented executives and community leaders representing a diverse field of interests. These members bring to the table a skill set that squarely aligns the Chamber for success on a variety of business fields. We accomplish our many programs through a network of ten committees, each of which develops an individual program of work during a third-quarter planning retreat.
Our programs, initiatives, activities and campaigns are all designed to support at least one component of the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce mission statement. Those efforts include annual programs such as the Small Business Expo, the Educational Scholarship Golf Tournament, an Open House holiday shopping event, a Leadership Development program that has graduated hundreds of candidates, a signature campaign designed to encourage local spending and an award-winning Drugs Don't Work program. The Convention and Visitors Bureau Committee presents an annual street fair, More Than A Taste of Calhoun, which draws thousands of visitors each Spring and the Young Professionals Committee presents a fundraising event each year that raises thousands of dollars for a local recipient agency.
